Sunday Assembly Detroit is a secular congregation that meets to hear great talks, sing songs and generally celebrate the wonder of life. It’s a service for anyone who wants to live better, help often, and wonder more.
This free event is online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the pandemic, we are listening to various artists highlighted by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts.
We don’t have clergy, instead we have local community leaders and thinkers. For this month we are having Rick Speck, to talk about Criminal Justice Reform
Here is a taste of what he’ll talk about this month:
With so much conversation about police reform and the services which could replace police, it’s difficult to know what is the right thing to do. Thankfully there are already people working to help those affected by the criminal justice system such as Rick Speck. Working with formerly incarcerated individuals in his new role at Safe and Just Michigan, Rick will be talking about his work and how we can get involved.

We are a radically inclusive community and we welcome our LGBTQIA+ brothers, sisters, and siblings.
We also welcome everyone along the secular/religious spectrum. Whatever your degree of religion, spirituality, or utter lack thereof you are welcome here. As an organization, we don’t do religious, spiritual, or supernatural things, but we won’t tell you you’re wrong if you do.
***We can’t wait to see you!***
If you’re looking for an inviting and positive community, you’ve come to the right place. We look forward to getting to know you if you’re new and welcoming you back home if you’ve been before.
